How it works

1. Enter the starting point and job location. Measure the route or type one-way kilometres. Include the drive home if needed.
2. Check your van’s fuel consumption and pump price. Size presets are examples; your receipts are better.
3. Add job pay, labour if you want it included, depreciation, servicing and tolls. Extra kilometres are added once.
4. Check the job. Happy days means pay exceeds the entered costs; Tight squeeze means it breaks even; You’re paying to work means a shortfall.

The sums

Litres = total kilometres × L/100 km ÷ 100. Fuel cost = litres × price per litre. Van cost = fuel + depreciation + maintenance + total tolls. Money left = job pay − van cost − entered labour.

When a return leg is measured separately, its distance is added to the outbound leg. Otherwise the one-way distance is doubled. Your own extra kilometres are added once. UK MPG uses imperial gallons; US MPG uses US gallons.

Five free checks each month

Each completed quote uses one of your five free monthly checks. Failed attempts, reopening history, sharing and printing do not use extra checks. The allowance resets on the first day of each month at 00:00 UTC.

What the answer leaves out

Only costs you enter are included. This is not profit: materials, insurance, tax, overheads and unentered time may still need covering. Changing a currency label does not convert amounts. Manufacturer fuel figures are laboratory results, not a promise for your loaded van.
